Chinhoyi – Mary Mliswa is set to make history by becoming the first elected female provincial chairperson for ZANU (PF) in Mashonaland West Province in the internal elections set for Tuesday.
Mliswa, who is banking on the high number of female supporters across the province has also managed to get male supporters during her whirlwind campaign trails.
Mliswa, who has been described as a workaholic on developmental projects, is expected to shrug off her competitors who include Kindness Paradza, Vengai Musengi, and Abiel Mujeri.
“It’s time we have a woman who is fearless and commited to seeing development which affords all people an opportunity to be empowered in all spheres. Mliswa has proved that she is capable of delivering as our chairperson,” Chrispen Saidi, a former party provincial member said.
Mliswa who is also the Minister of State for Provincial Affairs and Devolution for Mashonaland West has also been described as a unifier.
