ZANU (PF) affiliates, Young Miners for Economic Development (YM4ED) and Farmers for Economic Development (Farmers4ED) have congratulated President Emmerson Mnangagwa following his declaration by the Zimbabwe Electoral Commission (ZEC) as the winner of the 2023 presidential election.
“Young Miners for Economic Development (YM4ED) congratulates His Excellency, the President of Zimbabwe, Dr Emmerson Dambudzo Mnangagwa on his re-election in the August 23 harmonized elections.
“As young people passionate about economic development and growth, we are elated to serve under the able leadership of Dr. ED Mnangagwa and the ZANU PF-led government which is pro-people and pro-development. We take the President’s “open for business” and the “Nyika Inovakwa nevene vayo” slogans to heart because we know it is our duty as young people to build our country and to grab every business opportunity the ZANU PF-led government gives to us. We urge those who have lost to concede defeat and join hands with Dr ED Mnangagwa, who is a listening and understanding President.
“As young Miners, we are ready to contribute to the US$12 billion mining economy and we believe that “Nyika Inovakwa nevacheri vayo.” We, therefore, pledge our support for the government as we build the country together,” said Nyasha Magadhi, the YM4ED President.
In a statement, Farmers4ED National Chairperson, Tapiwa Chitate said Mnangagwa’s victory has secured consistency in agriculture growth which will contribute to the creation of a USD$8.5 billion agriculture industry.
“Farmers4ED would like to extend hearty congratulations to H.E. Dr. E.D. Mnangagwa on his resounding win in the just-ended Presidential elections. We celebrate this win as it is evidence of the great work you have done in the past five years, echoing the confidence the people of Zimbabwe have in your capable leadership.
“We reiterate our solid commitment and complementary effort in attaining your vision to ensure food security and economic development through farming; affirming our desire to transform our communities through organized agricultural activities to alleviate poverty, and meaningfully contribute to your broader vision of creating a USD8.5 billion agricultural industry by 2030. Your win, Your Excellency has secured the likelihood of consistency in the agricultural sector and growth of its potential to stabilize the national and provincial economies.” Chitate said.
Chitate said Mnangagwa’s victory will ensure that the agriculture sector will contribute to the attainment of an upper-upper-middle income by 2030.
“It is gratifying to know that under your leadership, the farming sector will continue to meaningfully contribute to the attainment of an upper-middle-class economy by 2030 as we stand resolute in a gender and intergenerational approach to efficient and innovative use of one of the most important gains of the Liberation Struggle – land,” Chitate said in his congratulatory message.
“The Farmers4ED wishes you, Your Excellency, a successful term of office as we assure you of our continued support in the development of our country through farming for both urban and rural farming as we shall continue to leave no one and no place behind,” he added.
