Zvimba – Young people in Zvimba South Constituency have said they are pinning their hopes on the constituency’s ZANU PF House of Assembly candidate, Dexter Taurai Malinganiso, to positively turn their fortunes through inclusion.
The young people said they believe Malinganiso understands their needs as he relates to them better as they are peers of the same age.
The youthful member of parliament candidate who got the right to represent the party after defeating Jessica Tapfumanei, Tawanda Tungamirai, and Dr. Philip Chiyangwa said he has set his eyes on uplifting the prospects of young people in the constituency.
“We believe that having a parliament representative of our own age will go a long way in having our issues addressed. Our MP understands us better because we are of the same age. We believe as young people who relate better to each other, we shall have increased youth inclusion in various community-based development activities,” Florence Chitatu said in an interview.
“We are sure that he will go his way to ensure that our voices are amplified as someone who understands the youth constituents clearer and understands its needs,” she said.
Tambudzai Lucias of Banket said she hopes the young candidate will facilitate investments in the constituency that will bring with it employment prospects.
“I believe that he is capable of facilitating employment prospects of young people in both urban and rural areas of the constituency through luring investors. As young people, we are looking forward to being offered opportunities in various sectors of the economy,” she said.
The youthful Malinganiso pledged to facilitate the empowerment of young people in the constituency.
Malinganiso, who is also the ruling party’s provincial secretary for lands, said he is focussing on establishing a vocational training centre for the constituency.
“We have plans for a vocational training institute for the constituency and since the large party of the constituency is a farming area, it’s important young people have access to land. As the colossal revolutionary party, ZANU PF, we want to instill a culture of hard work amongst young people as we build our country brick by brick,” he said.
Malinganiso, who is confident of a thunderous victory, said young people should peacefully vote for ZANU PF for s secured prosperous future and heeded President Mnangagwa’s clarion call for taking ownership in the building of their own country.
