Young Farmers are upbeat that the partnership between Agrifoods and Empower Bank is paying huge dividends in maximising food production among the youths so as to contribute to sustainable economic growth.
Agrifoods processes all agricultural produce and sells to farmers who are into different types of farming.
“We process soybeans, sunflower seeds, and cotton seeds, to mention just a few. We have always been supporting young farmers with technical advice in the comfort of their farming zones freely. We train them on how they should go about their farming businesses, ” said Mr. Wellington Chiremba, the Agrifoods Managing Director.
”As Agrifoods we also promote not only young farmers but all farmers who are working in groups. We sell them our products at a discount. We have specialisst in different farming activities who go on the ground to assist by advising and training and imparting information free of charge on how best they can improve their agricultural activities,” said Mr. Chiremba.
Empower Bank is providing young farmers with support through bank loans. To date, it has assisted more than 5000 young farmers. Agrifoods has two major branches in Harare and Bulawayo and sub-branches that serve the entire nation. One of Agrifoods sister companies, Farm and City, are selling Agrifoods products nationwide.
