The Year 2021 is dusted now and let me sum it in 3 words, “tough but interesting”. For the record, l have made it a tradition that each year on my birthday (7 January), l formulate strategies about the coming year. l set out my resolutions for the new year and hopefully l will be able to fulfill them. Yes, the 7th of January was my birthday. You heard right and let me take this opportunity to thank the Lord for blessing me.
Back to the 2022 issues, my resolutions are not that complicated, but l 100% acknowledge they will be the hardest to fulfill and in this instance, I do not have any option but to make them happen. Without a doubt, 2022 is the year l break or make it. Big decisions are going to be made from all perspectives which l will try to sum in brief. I have crafted a 5-year plan which l believe God fully supports.
Everyone’s goal is to become a millionaire somehow at any day and l have considered that too in my 5-year plan. I have drafted one of the simplest resolutions but difficult to attain for 2022. The resolution is merely based on enhancing my value in monetary terms. Currently, my net worth is around USD15-20k and l intend to take it to between USD 75-100k.
On Career
Everyone has a career, and l thank the Lord for taking me this far, for l know he hasn’t started yet. With that being said, BIG decisions are going to be made in 2022 including my career in corporate management. Reality has shown me some of those colours which some of you couldn’t and trust me, the colours ain’t that good.
A few have been privileged to know in advance the decision l will have to take on my corporate management career and l am happy they are supporting, and only time will tell if it’s a good decision or not. About the nature of the decision l will make, only time will tell. It’s just a matter of months if not weeks.
On Music
2021 wasn’t that busy year as we only offered a single project #Chakafukidza together with my partner in crime #Tawa. The video did well on ZBC shows and eventually settled on position 43 on ZBC Top 50. What a milestone. In 2022, we are taking a notch up with my partner in crime #Tawa as we intend to release a musical album possibly by mid-year. Besides the planned joint album, several solo tracks are already planned. Hopefully, all will be well and will go accordingly.
On Education
One author noted that an investment in knowledge pays the best interest. I will continue sailing through the waters of education. This year l will surely add more accolades to my fruitful education life. Without a doubt, in 2022, l am going for that Ph.D. It’s interesting to highlight that end of this year l will be graduating with my second Master in Strategic Management.
One hindrance to the new academic road l will take is my career. I recall last year when l was about to write my final exams in May 2021, my boss simply instructed me that l will not be going anywhere of which he won the battle and l stayed at work thus failing to write my FINAL exams.
That was the turning point in my career as a worker and all the interests l had concerning my job were lost. Personal development is crucial which l believe is also related to the quality of output l will dispose to the company l am contracted to.
It has been a childhood dream for me to climb to the last step of the academic ladder and a Ph.D. in any business degree has been my ambition.
On Business and Investments
An established businessman told me that investment is about managing risks not avoiding them. Without hesitation, l believe l have discovered that I will unleash the bullish business attitude in 2022, thanks to my boss as mentioned in the top paragraph. It’s a common norm in investment analysis that high risk attracts high returns and without doubt, in 2022 l am pursuing more risks so as get favourable returns.
This is the section from which my 2022 resolutions have been extracted. I have linked up with various partners from family to friends and we will be sailing through the unknown cold waters of entrepreneurship and hopefully, all will be well. The 2022 planned investments are coming in from agriculture, food processing, entertainment among other areas. In Shona, what we have tabled is “kuponda nhamo” strategy, and l believe l have the right company in achieving those goals.
On Relationship
Love is a beautiful thing and whoever finds love, finds peace. In 2021, big decisions were made – from finding someone special to settling down. It started with an engagement in the resort town of Victoria Falls early year. I paid lobola in Bulingwa during mid-year and I am proud of all those decisions l made. In 2022, we are surely going to wed and hopefully, l will give her the best wedding. For now, l will withhold her name.
To conclude, l will leave you with a Bible verse which l will be moving with this year. Deuteronomy 8:18 “But remember the LORD your God, for it is he who gives you the ability to produce wealth, and so confirms his covenant, which he swore to your ancestors, as it is today.”
