Dendera crooner Sulumani Chimbetu has promised a flawless act this coming Friday in the capital.
Sulu, as he is affectionately known by his legion of fans will be performing on Good Friday at Jasen Little Theatre
According to the Dendera Kings manager, Calton Muparutsa, fans should brace for a ‘big’ treat from the ex-air force man’s band.
“We are looking forward to having a Classic show on Friday, it will indeed be a Good Friday.
“It will be our debut show at Jasen Mphepo Little Theatre and we promise to deliver a flawless act.
“We urge our fans, both old and new to come in their numbers as we celebrate Easter at this unique joint,” said Muparutsa.
The ‘Batai Munhu’ hitmaker has gained the acclaim of the Dendera crown after the death of his father, Simon Chimbetu.
Despite the fierce competition from uncle Allan and nephew Tryson, it is Sulumani who has managed to win more of the Dendera music aficionados ever since his debut album Sadaka nearly 14 years ago.
The ZPCS brand ambassador is also credited for blending the Dendera genre with contemporary sound making his appeal to a bigger audience.
To date, he has produced a catalogue of hit songs that include Nyuchi Yanditenderera featuring the late Soul Jah Love, ’Sean Timba’ and ‘Alice Mbewe’ to mention but a few.
Sulu and his band are also synonymous with delivering well-choreographed shows that leave fans in delirium and the ‘Good Friday’ promises to be yet another of those.
