Prophet Ephias Jengeta, the Founder of Family Worship Tabernacle International led pastors under the banner of the Joshua Caleb Network and the Tehillar Christian Network on a solidarity prayer tour of Parliament on 20 April 2018.
With more than 50 church leaders, the Parliament solidarity prayer tour constituted church leaders led by Reverend Sam Malunga of the Paradise Gates Ministries, Apostle Golden Mutepfa of the Grace Faith in Christ and Apostle Nesbert Mapfumo of the Triumph Ministries.
“The objective of the solidarity prayer tour was to express the commitment of the church to the national vision envisaged under the leadership of His Excellence President Emmerson Mnangagwa.
“Our prayer focused on development of the Zimbabwean economy, protection of our country from conflicts and long life for our leadership,” Prophet Jengeta said.
Speaking during the tour, Reverend Malunga urged the church to heed the President’s clarion call to propagate the message of peace, love, forgiveness, national healing and unity.
“MPs from across the political divide should commit themselves to fulfilling the aspirations of the electorate and not pursue personal gratification. They should take cue from the President’s message of peace, unity and reconciliation,” Reverend Malunga said.
A fortnight ago, Prophet Jengeta and the Family Worship Tabernacle embarked on a clean-up campaign in Highfields where his church is headquartered.
During the campaign, he emphasised on the need for the church to lead by example in spearheading programmes that have to do with development and that foster unity, cohesion and togetherness.
Since the inception of the new political administration, there has been phenomenal interactive relationship between the church and the government.
Apostle Mutepfa commended the privilege that has been accorded to the church to work hand in glove with the government in national building.
Prophet Jengeta rallied the church to be active participants in national development rather than only stick to spiritual perspectives. He said the church has potential to galvanise international support within its global presence in bringing developmental projects to the various nations.
