Preparations for the women’s premier showcase market that will run from the 27th to the 29th of July at the Long Cheng Plaza in Harare are at an advanced stage.
The Entrepreneurs will be showcasing high quality handmade artisan products and traditional foods that support local communities.
Professor Hubert Gijzen, UNESCO Regional Director for Southern Africa, will officially open the third edition of the showcase market.
The women’s showcase market is a collaborative effort between the Women’s Farming Syndicate (WFS), On the Rock Consultants, Long Cheng Plaza, Ministry of Physcomotor activities in education, UN Agencies, Embassies, leading Corporates to link women with sustainable markets , investment and connecting local entrepreneurs with their counterparts in other nations.
Tsitsi Valerie Machingauta, the Executive Director of WFS said the Women’s Farming Syndicate and Long Cheng Plaza, will run a free weekend market.
“The Women’s Farming Syndicate and Long Cheng Plaza will run a free weekend market to enable entrepreneurs to promote their products and services from the 5th of August 2017.”
Machingauta pointed out that the platform gives women opportunities and room to market their businesses not only locally but regionally and internationally, hence helping them to sustain their livelihoods.
“This platform encourages women to stand up and be seen by creating synergies to grow and sustain their livelihoods,” Machingauta said.
