PAKISTAN has called for the recognition of the Kashmir people who have been subjected to the Indian rule for over the past seven decades in Kashmir.
Speaking during the Kashmir Black Day commemorations held at the Embassy of Pakistan in Harare on the 26th of October 2021, Embassy of Pakistan Charge de’ Affairs Fariz Hasan said African states and the world at large needed to assist their country in liberating the Kashmiris.
Kashmir is commemoration held annually on 27 October by all the Kashmiri around the world and this is to remind the world of the occupation of Jammu and Kashmir.
Being a Muslim majority state with 87 percent Muslim population, Kashmir was a part of Pakistan as both shared strong bonds in respect of religion, geography and culture.
“What ensued from that occupation is the human rights abusers, use of pallet guns, abductions, murders, rapes and everything,” Mr Hasan said.
“The area in question (Kashmir) is a valley between Jammu and Kashmir and actually it is the longest on the United Nations Security Council’s agenda. This day serves to remind the world that there is an area called Kashmir which has Kashmir people who are being subjected to human rights abuses and seek permanent peace and the world needs to do something about that. The United Nations (UN) needs to fulfil its promise to the Kashmir people.”
Mr Hasan said they have engaged all African countries and all their missions to commemorate the Black Day.
He said they were going talk with their Government and African counterparts because without their support the issue cannot be solved.
“We need African support and we urge our African brothers and sisters to help us because without their help this issue cannot be resolved quickly.
Pakistan’s Foreign Ministry is consistently updating the world leaders on the Indian brutalities in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK) and the Pakistan parliament has passed several resolutions since August last year, expressing solidarity with the oppressed people of IIOJK and condemning India’s illegal actions in the territory.
The Army Chief, General Qamar Javed Bajwa has repeatedly expressed Pakistan army’s support to the Kashmir cause.
He has declared that Pakistan was ready to fight till last bullet and last soldier for Kashmir.
