Chinhoyi – The much anticipated Mashonaland West Agricultural Show will roar into life from the 26th up to the 29th of July 2023 in Chinhoyi with a Namibian delegation comprising government officials and players in the agriculture exhibition sector expected in the country for the premier showcase.

Speaking to the media during a media brief, Godfrey Mavhankeni, who doubles as Mashonaland West Show Society and Zimbabwe Show Society Chairperson said it is now all systems go for the 76th Edition Mash West agriculture showpiece.

Traditionally staged in August, this year’s edition had been initially pencilled for September 2023 before the dates were shifted to July due to the Zimbabwean general elections slated for 23 August 2023.

Mavhankeni said more than a hundred new and old exhibitors are expected to take part in the annual agriculture extravaganza which will be hosted at Chinhoyi Show Grounds.

“We are expecting both old and new exhibitors to be part of this year’s historical exhibition themed ” Adoption of SMART farming, going for growth” and preparations are on course with exhibitors showing their eagerness to participate,” he said.

Mavhankeni said a delegation from Namibia’s Okavango Province is expected to grace the show.

“We are excited and look forward to hosting our brothers and sisters from Namibia who also comprises staff from Rundu Agriculture Show Society from Namibia and this follows our visit to Rundu Agriculture Exhibition in 2022,” he said.

The Namibian delegation visit is a result of a successful twinning arrangement between Zimbabwe’s Mashonaland West Province and Namibia’s Okavango Province in various areas of cooperation.

Besides exhibitions, an agro-based conference will run concurrently with the show.

The Democratic Republic of Congo acrobatic bikers will also make a return to headline the entertainment arena during the agricultural show dates.
