Uprising Kadoma-based gospel diva Chiyedza Chipiro is set to launch her second Gospel album this August in Kadoma.
In an interview, the musician said the album launch is set to take place on the 20th of August 2022 at Anglican Church Hall in Kadoma where she will be supported by various other artists who are to grace the occasion.
Born in 1995, Chiyedza said she wrote the album which sings about how good our God is and how He is always doing good things.
“I wrote the songs on the album after looking back on my life and I just thought how good it was talking to God because He never remained silent ever since prayer became my lifestyle.” said the singer.
According to the songbird, the album carries eight spiritually-filled songs that include “Rwizi rwerugare”, ” Mweya wangu”, “Hondo dzedu”, the title track ” Kunamata kwakanaka”, and “mutsvene” among other songs that will make the listener filled with the power of God.
“The album carries 8 tracks and I know those who are going to come on the launch day, will be blessed,” said Chiyedza who began singing in churches and school choir at Eiffel Flats Primary in Kadoma at the tender age of 9 but began taking gospel music serious at a later stage.
“I began taking music seriously after I completed Ordinary Level but singing was in my bones and it is a family thing. One of my siblings, Victor, helped me on this latest album,” said Chiyedza.
A teacher by profession, Chiyedza’s album was produced by Luther Sekelani, and the album, KUNAMATA KWAKANAKA is expected to lift the spirits of those who are going to make it to the launch and also those who will listen to the song.
The singer gives glory to God for giving her the opportunity to work with other artists who made it easier for her to record the album.
“I hope the album is going to be received by many and I would like to give glory to God for giving me the opportunity to work with artists who include the men of God like Prophet Elijah Gabriel, Luther Sekelani, and my sibling Victor Chipiro,” said Chiyedza.
Backed by Devine Worshippers, Chiyedza’s album launch will feature artists such as Pastor Josh Kays, Tinashe Murigo, Hick Gwarimbo, Prophet Elijah Gabriel, Minister Pride Nhokwara, Lucamus Musanje, and the Kadoma talented Kadoma Gospel Group in which the talented singer was groomed from.
“Various artists confirmed their availability and among them Hick Gwarimbo, Prophet Gabriel, and the group which groomed me Kadoma Gospel Group.” said the singer.
The songbird had a debut album in 2019 called “Havakundikani Jesu” and it carries seven tracks and is accompanied by two videos that did well on National Fm and Nyaminyami FM radio stations. She later recorded 2 other singles “Itsika yenyu” and “mutsvene” in 2021 which also did well on social platforms. During the interview, she said she will shoot the videos for her latest album.
