MDC Alliance, the Zimbabwe’ biggest opposition political party led by Advocate Nelson Chamisa has expressed its bereavement following the passing on of Foreign Affairs and International Trade Minister, Retired Lieutenant General Sibusiso Moyo.
Expressing its condolences in a statement yesterday, the MDC Alliance said,” Our party would like to extend our heartfelt condolences to the family and loved ones and their political party Zanu PF.”
The party also expressed sorrow over the deaths of Ellen Gwaradzimba, a provincial minister for Manicaland who succumbed to Covid-19 last week and liberation war heroes Mukudzei Midzi and Morton Malianga highliting that both cadres were dedicated liberation war heroes who sacrificed everything to free Zimbabwe.
“We have learnt with sadness the passing on of Dr Gwaradzimba and liberation war heroes Mukudzei Midzi and Morton Malianga.Our heartfelt condolences to the families and loved ones and their political party Zanu PF, both Cdes were liberation war heroes who sacrificed everything to free our beloved nation.
The pandemic, MDC Alliance said, which has ravaged the world with no discrimination was a challenge to every citizen and called upon Zimbabweans to religiously adhere to Covid-19 and World Health Organisation guidelines on containing the spread of the vicious pandemic.
“We call upon Zimbabweans to exercise great caution and abide by the World Health Organization guidelines on preventing further spread of the Coronavirus.
“Wash your hands, wear a mask and practice social distancing.”
Moyo is the third Zimbabwean minister to die of coronavirus.
