Miombo woodlands are some of the most important and widespread woodlands in eastern and southern Africa across southern Africa. They provide food and cover for a diverse range of wildlife, including antelopes, giraffes, rhinos, lions, and some of the largest populations of elephants in Africa.
Environment, Climate, Tourism, and Hospitality Industry Zimbabwean Minister Hon Nqobizitha Mangaliso Ndhlovu is in Maputo, Mozambique where he is attending the International Conference on Integrated and Sustainable Management of the Miombo forest.
The Miombo is one of the most prominent forest formations in the Southern part of Africa and makes up the largest ecosystem of tropical forests that make a significant contribution to the livelihoods of millions of people living in rural areas.
Hon Ndhlovu has yesterday joined a Ministerial segment with other African Ministers to draft a Maputo Declaration to be endorsed and signed by the Head of States on the 5th of August 2022, including the President of the Republic of Zimbabwe, His Excellency Cde. Dr. E.D. Mnangagwa.
