Hwedza South legislator, MP and businessman Tinodaishe Machakaire is committed to the development of sport as he has constantly been central in Zimbabwe’s sporting development.
The MP for Hwedza, and businessman has in the past shown commitment in the sporting arena through supporting and sponsoring the Charles Manyuchi and Pablo Acosta fight held at the HICC recently.
To continue this benevolent gesture Honourable Machakaire was a major contributor at last night’s Zimbabwe warriors fundraising dinner at a local hotel
The MP through his company had earlier pledged a whopping 200 000 RTGS dollars through his company, Tinmac Motors.
As if this was not enough and to continue his good gesture the MP went on to successfully bid for a soccer jersey and ball autographed by the President and guest of honour at the event President Emmerson Dambudzo Mnangagwa for a modest 10 000 US$.
This was the highest bid for the ball and replica jersey pair that was auctioned on the night with the other four going to Spencer Manguwo, Zimplats, Beauty Masibanda and POTRAZ for 3500US$, 1500US$, 1400US$ and RTGS$56 000 respectively.
An attempt to bid for the President’s trademark scarf by the legislator and businessman was only stopped when he gave in at RTGS$200 000 to popular fuel mogul Kudakwashe Tagwirei’s bid of US$RTGS 251 000 which finally took the famous scarf.
Speaking on the side-lines of the fund raising dinner the MP said that it was his interest for the general improvement of the conditions of Zimbabweans that motivated him to give.
The noble gesture by the legislator should stand motivational to other legislators who despite being businesspersons had only been popular for big spending on their personal interests and never for the general community good.
