The Diplomat Business Networking Club (DBNC) – a high-profile social and business networking initiative, was successfully launched in Harare.
Speaking after the launch, DBNC’s chairman, Arvind Nayer said the Club is a unique platform for decision-makers and influential members of the society to share knowledge and experiences, discover opportunities, and cement collaborations.
“The Diplomat Business Networking Club is a high profile social and business networking organisation that connects diplomats, senior business executives, policymakers, government officials, civil society, private sector, media, and other key stakeholders in a diverse and multi-cultural atmosphere of positive dialogue, goodwill and opportunity.
“We will also organise high profile events with strong networking power, interesting topics, and business to business connections for our members,” said Mr Nayer
He also said the club will partner with sport, cultural, charity, and sustainable development efforts that empower communities through information, knowledge, and resource sharing.
Accepting the Chairmanship and the Task ahead Nayer said, “I am honoured and with great pride, I accept the nomination as Chairman of Diplomat Business Networking Club. I am really excited about the successful launch.
“The success of this club does not lie on one shoulder but it should be a collective effort. Any success is success for the whole club and the country at large,” he said.
Nayer is the founder and CEO of Vintage Travel established in 1996. The Company has won many awards from British Airways, Comair, Ethiopian Airlines, Cathay Pacific, Air Mauritius and Lufthansa.
He is currently the Chapter Head for the International Ecotourism Society’s which has close to 150 countries as members. Nayer was also a key member of the Zimbabwe Australia Business Council, is a board member of World Travel Network, Brand Ambassador for African Tourism Board and World Travel Tourism Council which has a presence in 120 countries.
The Vice-Chairperson of DBNC is Amiel Matindike the Executive Director of Axis solutions, a Pan-African ICT solutions integrator and consultant with a presence in Zimbabwe, Zambia and Malawi. The Club’s Finance Secretary is Anora Sibanda, the Operations Director of Gainquip. Sibanda was named as one of the Iconic Women of the Last Decade in Zimbabwe. Other Board members include Tom Hill (Trade Director, British Embassy), Azizul Hakim BinBuang (Second Secretary Malaysian Embassy), and Chaka Bosha (Media and Development Consultant).
