It is going to be fireworks on the 25th of May as apostles Dr. L.C and Dr. Florence Kanyati host the Rizpah Conference under the theme “Unveling.”
This is a woman’s conference meant to empower women and families through teaching and preaching of the gospel of Christ, taking from the Biblical story of Rizpa from 2 Sam 21 where Rizpah daughter of Aiah, and one of Saul’s concubines took it upon herself to restore dignity when her sons were killed and their bodies hung at the sanctuary.
The life of Rizpah could make a horror movie, but despite terrible tragedy, she was faithful to God and her family and brought blessings to many.
The story of Rizpah birthed the vision of the conference taking from the dedication and unwavering stance of Rizpah as she watched over the dead bodies of the seven sons with the aim of ensuring that their bodies get a correct burial.
The story of Rizpah tells a story of a woman with limited choices, a concubine of Saul. Her future seemed dark and hopeless since her sons were dead but Rizpah did not sit in a corner and mourn over her circumstances.
Instead, she becomes a ready woman, a woman of purpose, a kingmaker, and a nation-builder.
“We can all learn from Rizpah. Her purpose was not controlled by events. Her purpose was to do what was right, no matter the cost. The Rizpah conference draws from the bravery and faith of this biblical woman and comes annually on the 25th of May, coinciding with Africa Day with the aim of raising relevant women who stand up for change to happen. The convening will inspire the broken, and the hopeless with the aim of catapulting that battered woman from ashes to beauty.
“Rizpa’s courage reassures us to be steadfast in our faith since God can turn our most tragic moments into our greatest triumphs. Guests at the conference will not go back the same. It will be a life-changing experience as the story of Rizpah will encourage and empower women out of their desperate situations,” Dr. Florence Kanyati said.
The conference, now in its 23rd edition, will be held at the City Bowling Club from 0900hrs – 1630hrs. Apostle Dr. Florence and Langton Kanyati will be the main speakers for this year’s edition of the Rizpah conference.
Apostle Dr. Florence Kanyati is a woman of God, author, well-sought-after motivational speaker, preacher, counselor, mentor, and renowned international and conference speaker.
Registration is free, praise and worship will be from renowned music groups, Spirit Praise, Vabvuwi, and saxophonist Joseph Chinouriri.
