The Premier Soccer League (PSL) Disciplinary Committee has released the judgment in the matter involving Dynamos and Chapungu FC.
The Disciplinary Committee ruled that:
“The abandoned match to be resumed in 56 minute on the same score line of 4-0 in fayvour of Dynamos and on a date to be determined,” read the statement.
The PSL said each team shall meet its own costs in respect of the resumed match.
The match will be scheduled at a later date.
The verdict came at the time after Dynamos and Chapungu had been made to wait longer for the outcome of their abandoned match after the PSL had said they were still scrutinising the match officials’ reports from the game.
On 18 June 2017, the Castle Lager PSL match between the two teams was abandoned on the 56 minute when a goal post fell with the Harare Giants leading 4-0 courtesy of goals Emmanuel Mandiranga, Christian Ntouba and a brace from Denver Mukamba.
Chapungu who were the home side, tried in vain to fix the post, forcing the referee of the day Martin Chivandire to call of the match.
If Dynamos who are currently 4th on the log standings with 33 points win this match will move to the second position, one point behind log leaders, Ngezi Platinum FC, and if Chapungu wins which is highly unlikely, it will close the gap with 27 points.
