South African based reggae promoter Sevious Pasipanodya better known as Selector Sevious has branched out to disc jockying.
Pasipanodya, using his brand SVS International has hosted various shows both locally and internationally including the Dancehall Vs House in Beitbridge and Mussina which featured Gagasi FM DJ Webster late last year. This year he found his name on various shows playing with some of the best among them Soul Jah Love, Charly Black, Seh Calaz, Judgement Yard, Legendary Sounds, Mad Unit, DJ Sadiq, Gaza General Bhonzo and Metro Fm’s DJ Milli Bala . “I’ve always been passionate about music that’s why I went into promotion and deejaying comes naturally to me” said Pasipanodya.

To prove his versatility, SVS also doubles as an MC. “I’ve been having back to back shows in various joints across South Africa including the 9 Bar in Midrand every Saturday, and Café Concerto every Sunday, Cool Runnings in Durban, Downtown (Machipisa) ”, he said. Pasipanodya also played at the controversial socialite Genius Kadungure’s All White Party in Sandton last month.
During the much hype Harare International Carnival, he played at the Red Fox stage on First Street. “I also came over to play at the Zi FM guys at the Hunters Dry Party at Rainbow Towers last weekend,” said Pasipanodya.
As a promoter Pasipanodya has hosted several local artists in South Africa including MC Ghetto Jnr, Tony E, Joker Di Genius, Kublo, Teban Ceeand Merciless Zimbabwe, among others.
Meanwhile, as part of diversifying his brand Pasipanodya unveiled a clothing line. “We basically have ready to wear urban clothing line which features t-shirts, tracksuits, caps, hoodies and shoes,” he said. The line is available on the local market as well as in South Africa. “We are still looking for more retail outlets to take in our product so that it can be easily available everywhere.”
