Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation (EGPAF) To Meet with High-Level Leaders and Feature Pediatric Innovations at Annual Global Health Conference
The Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation (EGPAF) will showcase its groundbreaking research and innovative programs during the 22nd International Conference on AIDS and STIs (ICASA) that will be held from Dec. 4-9, 2023, in Harare, Zimbabwe.
Hailed as the largest HIV/AIDS conference in Africa, ICASA brings together technical experts, private sector partners, people living with HIV, governments, and other stakeholders who are committed to ending the AIDS epidemic and strengthening the health systems in Africa. EGPAF experts will present their latest programmatic and research findings during the conference and will also host three satellite sessions on topics ranging from ending AIDS in children by 2030 to the role local government leadership has in building successful pathways for sustainable HIV programs and services.
“By collaborating with global health leaders and sharing our experiences at ICASA 2023, we can collectively work towards achieving our shared goal of an AIDS-free future for all children,” said Charles “Chip” Lyons, president and chief executive officer of EGPAF.
“Now is the time for action,” Lyons continued. “ICASA 2023 comes on the heels of the release of ‘In Danger: Global AIDS Update 2022’, which revealed how badly progress in HIV prevention and treatment is faltering around the world. We thank the Society for AIDS in Africa and the Zimbabwe government for providing a platform for us to discuss approaches to get back on track.”
EGPAF experts will also be participating in high-level meetings with key partners and stakeholders in the region, including the Organization of African First Ladies Against HIV/AIDS (OAFLAD) and the Southern African Development Community.
