A  Form 1 student at Kwenda Mission has spoken about how he is doing studies and music simultaneously, a feat which he says is attainable.
Speaking to this publication, Anotidaishe Mupambirei, whose stage name is Hoodkid, said he started his professional career last year when he was in Grade 7.
“I started recording music while I was in Grade 7 soon after my exams with the release of my debut song Kalife. From then on, I did Rota featuring Narga, Zvazviri featuring Ab3Ix, and Tambudzai,” Hoodkid said.
Asked how he is managing to cope with the school pressure and doing music at the same time, the 13-year-old musician revealed that he loves juggling the two with so much ease.
“I have never felt that it brings pressure to me but rather it is something I enjoy the most. My parents have been my biggest supporters as they understand I take both my studies and music seriously,” said the young musician.
A manager at Allied Kings Entertainment, King Jae, the stable where Hoodkid is signed spoke highly of the work ethic of the young musician.
“He is amazing. A very committed and dedicated lad who takes his craft seriously. At first, we thought at school he might be poorly gifted but he surprised us when he passed his Grade 7 results and is doing his best at Kwenda.
“The good thing is he has the support of his parents. Trust me, he is going to illuminate this music scene,” said King Jae, real name James Manama.
The stable boasts of lyrically gifted young musicians that include Hoodkid and Mr Attention.
