Writes Elvis Dumba
Mutorashanga – Zvimba North Constituency Legislator who was accorded a second term by the electorate after a landslide victory in the country’s last month harmonized elections has already started fulfilling her elections pledges in the constituency.
Hon Marian Chombo donated a variety of textbooks to Windsor Primary School near Mutorashanga as she moves to fulfill the promises she made in the area for equipping local schools with necessary educational resources.
During her campaign trail, school authorities and parents in the area revealed that the lack of educational resources such as textbooks was hampering the quality of education for children in the area with the legislator pledging to source textbooks for the local school.
“We are pleased with the donation for our children. This will go a long way in our children’s education. As you may be aware, we face network challenges that affect these children when they have to do their CALA assignments” a local parent, Dadirai Zeka said.
The school that serves resettled farmers faces a myriad of challenges and the books donation is a shot in the arm for the school.
Hon Chombo is also overseeing the construction of early child care centers in the constituency, with a target of having no early child learner traveling for more than five kilometers to access education by 2026 in the constituency.
“We are moving on with President Mnangagwa’s mantra of ensuring that no place or person is left behind and his call that we fulfill our electoral promises,” Hon Chombo said.
She added that more schools will receive textbooks and other educational resources.
