Banket – ZANU PF members have been warned against promoting divisions ahead of the general elections slated for August this year.
The warning was made by Zvimba South Constituency legislator, Dr Philip Chiyangwa, who is also the party’s central committee member at the Zvimba South Constituency Inter-district meeting held in Banket
Dr. Chiyangwa said the party members should preach the gospel of unity and development as he endorsed Dexter Malinganiso as the party’s parliamentary candidate for Zvimba South Constituency after the party’s primary elections.
“We all need to ensure that all our candidates romp to victory and in this Constituency, we have Dexter Malinganiso who defeated me in the primary elections. I am here to support him and I want everyone to support him. We don’t want anyone in our party to be fanning divisions and if you are there be warned as ZANU PF has no place for divisions,” he said.
ZANU PF National Women’s League Secretary for Finance, Tsitsi Caroline Mugabe, said that all progressive party members should emulate Dr. Chiyangwa in promoting the party’s ideology of unity.
“We need to appreciate people like Dr. Chiyangwa, who, even though he lost in the primary elections, is vigorously campaigning for the party as he knows that the party is bigger than an individual. He is promoting the gospel of unity as we head towards the harmonized general elections in which we know we are romping to victory as long as we have people like Dr. Chiyangwa who is supporting our Zvimba South Constituency parliamentary candidate wholeheartedly,” she told delegates at the same meeting.
The ZANU PF parliamentary candidate for Zvimba South Constituency, Dexter Malinganiso promised to continue the good works of the party in the constituency, which were being spearheaded by Dr.Chiyangwa.
“I am happy that I have Dr. Chiyangwa’s support as we continue with our party’s and President Mnangagwa’s vision for accelerated development in our constituency. I am grateful that people like Dr Chiyangwa are there for us to show us the ropes as we navigate the political terrain and we should take heed of being united as a party,” he said.
