Working with a high-performing team is a rewarding feature of a satisfactory work experience, according to Kundai Mapuranga, customer value management manager of MultiChoice Zimbabwe.
“A team that performs consistently well is one of the greatest things in the workplace, and I have the pleasure to have that experience with the great team I have working with me,” she said.
Thinking back on the messages of international women’s month during March, Kundai said her strength as a team leader is enhanced by teamwork and team success and she remains grateful for their backup as she leads the team in their role of providing assistance and answers for customers.
“I am responsible for the overall functional management and leadership of all customer retention activities, and I am grateful for the high-performing team I work with as they are genuinely dedicated to the pursuit of our goals,” she said.
Asked if she felt that being a woman was disadvantageous in her positions, she said: “I believe in playing to my strengths, and being a woman is one of my strengths. As women we see things differently, have different opinions, different experiences, do things differently use those differences to our advantage.”
Women’s month was a time to celebrate and take stock of accomplishments and reflect on what can be done better.
Her advice to young people, especially women, is simple but effective: “The glass is always half full, never half empty. Teach yourself to think positively and think of ways of doing something different to get a different outcome if the first time did not work.
As a DStv viewer, she gets enjoyment aplenty from medical dramas and she is a keen promoter of using the My DStv App to see shows on the go and using DStv Catch Up for shows she has missed while working or doing other things.
