The awe-inspiring Matesti Victoria Falls has won the award for “Best for Off-grid Glamour” and has been included in the prestigious Tatler Travel Guide of the 101 Best Hotels in the World.
The property joins giants like Stuart Cantor, Castles in the Air, Pioneer Spirits, Romance Revivers, Comfort and Ease, Golden Years, Rescue Remedies, and One of a kind, to mention some popular tourism spots featured on Tatler Travel Guide in the year 2022.
The Matetsi Victoria Falls is one of the most beautiful landscapes in Zimbabwe that is a 136,000-acre wilderness area that is a game reserve.
One is guaranteed a memorable stay at Matatesi, home to all the Big Five wildlife animals. Arguably a leader in terms of conservation, there is a dedicated conservation-minded team on the ground that focuses on the preservation of this incredible area.
Sara Gardiner, the co-founder of Matetsi Victoria Falls said they are rebuilding the wildlife population that was being decimated by poaching. There was an initial investment of US$12 million towards this noble initiative.
Since water is a challenge in the game reserve, they installed 16 solar-powered boreholes that are working as artificial watering holes for the wildlife. Coupled with special anti-poaching teams trained to protect the reserve as well as excellent conservation programmes, the wildlife population is increasing.
“Winning the award for Best Off-grid Glamour and being featured in the prestigious Tatler Travel Guide of the 101 Best Hotels in the World gives Matetsi Victoria Falls the zeal to continue working hard to give our clients the best memorable experiences in terms of not only game viewing but luxurious accommodation but the ultimate combination of safari, river, relaxation, and the views of the majestic Victoria Falls all-in-one,” Sara said.
