Chinhoyi – Mashonaland West Minister of State for Provincial Affairs and Devolution, Hon Mary Mliswa-Chikoka yesterday commissioned and handed over four ambulances to various medical centres in the province.
Handing over the utility vehicles at her offices, Hon Mliswa said the government has come up with tailor-made programs that ensure that no one or place is left behind.
“The government is doing this cognisant of the fact that no one and no place is to be left behind. This, therefore, has informed the government to design tailor-made programs aimed at stimulating development, particularly in the formally neglected and disenfranchised communities,” she said.
Hon Mliswa said the ambulances will improve the receiving institutions’ response to emergencies which include expecting mothers.
“We are now, more than ever, assured that expecting mothers and all related emergent cases in need of special attention are ferried to specialists without delays. We are grateful to the Ministry of Health and Child Care, led by the Hon Vice President Hon CDGN Chiwengwa! This is a testament to the listening President and how swiftly the Government responds to the needs of the populace,” she said.
The Minister added that these and other programs must be broadcasted to the world, and to communities so that they are aware of such developmental projects.
She encouraged the people of Zimbabwe to embrace these programs as the country marches and charts the path towards the attainment of Vision 2030 of establishing a healthy middle-income society.
The four state-of-the-art fully equipped ambulances were handed over to Mashonaland West Provincial Medical Director Dr. Masocha on behalf of Mhondoro-Ngezi, Siakobvu, Makonde Districts, and Chinhoyi Provincial Hospitals.
