Mobile telecommunication giant, NetOne has reiterated the fact that it is not divorced from the community or its programs as evidenced by many years of supporting different programs in the communities it operates from.
The company has vowed to continue doing the same or better still up its game to meet the ever-changing socio-economic environment.
The National Development Strategy 1 (NDS1) gives stakeholders, including Netone, a clear vision of what direction to take. The mobile telephony company subscribes to the government’s call toward vision 2030, as it pulls to help develop sustainable community programs.
Netone corporate social initiatives (CSI) strategy covers the following areas: health, education, care, and empowerment only to mention a few.
NetOne was at Hingwe where it hosted a netball tournament and donations for the various areas that covers the NSD1.
It also donated hospital beds, baby scales, BP machines, sanitary pads, and wheelchairs.
On Friday Netone was at an event at Mbimba clinic where it equipped the clinic with various equipment necessary for the smooth run of a basic medical centre.
“We believe the equipment will go a long way in assisting the operations of the clinic. Today we are here again in Hingwe and we are doing the same, if not more. We will continue to engage the community of Bulilima through various community-based initiatives of this kind. Our goal is to build strong communities that can stand on their own and bring about sustainable economic growth,” said Netone Group Chief Executive Officer, Engineer Raphael Mushanawani in a speech that was read on his behalf by the Netone Matebeleland Regional Manager, Ms. Elmah Dube.
On Sartuday NetOne donated sports kits, sanitary pads, and grocery hampers for the elderly in the same province.
Mr. Mushanawani thanked Hon Dingumuzi Phuti who doubles as the MP for Bulilima West Constituency and the Deputy Minister of ICT, Postal, and Courier Services through whose guidance NetOne has grown from strength to strength.
“We are now able to offer support to different communities. Hon Deputy Minister, we would like to thank you for the support and also for allowing us to host the tournament in your constituency,” Mr. Mushanawani added.
