Chinhoyi- The forthcoming Mashonaland West Provincial ZANU PF executive elections are set to produce major surprises with Ministry of Information Deputy Minister Kindness Paradza recently outweighing other candidates to clinch the position of the party’s Provincial Chairperson.
Paradza who has been reportedly eyeing the post took over the top position of potential winners recently after some key districts said they will rally behind his candidature if he decides to stand.
Some of the district chairpersons who had earlier revealed their support for other candidates seem to have shifted their support towards Paradza.
Paradza who is currently the Makonde District Coordinating Committee Chairperson has already secured kindness support of at least a fifth of support from other District Coordinating Committee leaders from other districts across the province.
“After a retrospection of all candidates whom we know are eyeing for the post we have as chairpersons of DCC’s in the province we have found that our peer Honorable Paradza is the rightful candidate for the post as he has demonstrated that he is a unifier and development conscious of which the province will immensely benefit from his leadership,” said a District Coordinating Committee Chairperson who requested not to be named.
In Hurungwe, recently elected District Chairpersons said Minister Paradza has remained humble and easily accessible to all people in the province.
“Honorable Paradza has remained the leader we have always known, someone who is ready to listen and proffer advice for the benefit of communities and he always strives that he has time to interact with people despite the demanding roles he has a DCC Chairperson and Deputy Minister,” said a party district chairperson for one of the party’s districts in Hurungwe.
Paradza a member of parliament for Makonde Constituency is set to battle out for Mashonaland West Provincial Chairperson position against Vengai Musengi outgoing provincial youth chairperson, Minister of State for Provincial Affairs and Devolution Mary Mliswa-Chikoka, currently acting provincial chairperson Abiel Mujeri.
“Paradza has a rich political history of the province and is someone who doesn’t take advantage of his position in imposing his own things in the communities,” said another district chairperson
Paradza said he was ready to serve the party in any position as long he is able to advance the national development strategy 1 and vision 2030 which is being spearheaded by President Emerson Mnangagwa.
Paradza served on various party portfolios and has contributed towards various social and developmental projects in his constituency and other areas in the province.
