VaChirenda Centre of Hope Foundation on Friday 29 October donated sanitary wear to 217 girls of Secondary School in the Manana area under chief Seke.

The donation campaign code-named Donate-A -Pad by VaChirenda Centre of Hope Foundation comes at a time when the country is facing a serious economic meltdown with many people, especially in the rural communities living in abject poverty.

”We are delighted that the VaChirenda Centre of Hope Foundation has come to the rescue of our girls here in the Manana community. It’s difficult for us to buy sanitary wear for the girl child due to poverty,” said Mrs Gandiwa.

The event was graced by parents and the local community leaders who expressed gratitude to the VaChirenda Centre of Foundation Foundation. The guest of honour Dr Max Gombwe Chimedza said a girl child should be helped by all stakeholders as they are mothers and leaders of tomorrow.

”I have been always donating sanitary wear and I applaud this foundation once more for showing solidarity with the girl child,” said Dr Gombwe.

The Founder and Director of VaChirenda Centre of Hope Foundation Miss Xoey Chirenda who is based in the United States of America, through a telephone interview, said she will support every girl child in Seke district through her foundation.

”We are coming back to Kandava Secondary School with sewing machines. We will teach school girls how to design pads and it will be a permanent project that will see all girls in the community getting assisted,” said Xoey.

The VaChirenda Centre of Hope Foundation has been doing a lot of projects around the Seke district. The projects are uplifting women and girls for self-reliance.
