It is only in Zimbabwe where you find an individual buying a fleet of vehicles using proceeds from the Government ( Command Agriculture), and still walking scot-free on the streets of Harare as if nothing happened. We can only find it in this country, not anywhere else in the world.
Literally, looters have always enjoyed the monopoly of plundering national resources, simply because we lack research, we always bark on social media and WhatsApp platforms. Zanu PF will not be moved by social media rants, simply because we don’t have figures, in-depth analysis, and well-documented research material to prove our findings.
In the past, we had Command Agriculture, over 12 Billion was recorded on Government expenditure on this project, and here we go on PFUMVUDZA, before we even have closure on COMMAND AGRICULTURE we are already on another project!?
Do you know why?
We are always on social media. It ends there. We don’t have the authenticity to deal with these leakages. Once studies expose all these looting cahoots, it will be difficult for them to proceed with the journey of looting.
I find it more interesting, to read about Kudakwashe Tagwirei, whose net worth is believed to be around US$12 billion or more because apparently, we don’t have research and development work around these social media rants.
Two cents advice:
1. We need to deal with figures, findings on the huge loss we have around the Mining sector
2. We lack proper Strategic, Economic Research in all critical sectors of the economy
3. Research and Development is important, it reduces leakages, and promote transparency
4. We need figures that are credible from key sources, Local Think Tanks, and also studies to prove what we have in our country
4. Looters get away with wealth, simply because there is no room for findings
5. More than 65%, of our population, are graduates. Surprisingly, they don’t even know where the Great Dyke is found, and whilst your focus is on social media, looters are smuggling minerals outside the country.
6. Civil society must play a critical role to ensure accountability measures are put in place to restore confidence in all critical sectors of the economy
7. Opposition forces, rather parties, must provide checks and balances to the Government in place. Opposition must be an alternative. Social media rants without facts, are baseless and are difficult to support such a position.
8. A full list of Kudakwashe Tagwireyi’ s proxies, companies, etc is not enough to prove that he is looting. I can simply open 20 companies, and is there any verification process done, to prove that Kudakwashe Tagwirei is behind all these vehicles?
9. We need verified Research and Development studies to prove who is behind all the looting sprees, and many other looting cahoots around our economy.
10. Is Kudakwashe Tagwireyi a front, or he is the one in charge of all these companies? If he is a front, he is a front to who?
We need in-depth analysis research on our wealth in Zimbabwe. We have chrome, gold, nickel, bronze, alluvial diamonds, NGOs, civic society, Local Think Tanks, must converge to establish proper Economic Development Research studies to prove how much has been looted and those who have been fronting all this loot.
ZIST will be establishing a proper Economic – Development Research board, to verify the value of our minerals, around the country.
