UNHERALDED but steadily rising South Africa-based Zimbabwean-born Hip Hop musician Majik ‘N’ Money real name Eugene Nyasha Tendengu has announced the coming of his next album, Workaholic, with a release date set for May 30.
The Cape Town-based rapper said the 12 track album is a product of long and sleepless nights in and out of the studio and chronicles everyday life experiences of people during the Covid-19 inspired national lockdowns.
Majik N Money already has 4 albums to his name titled Majikfainated, Always ahead of you, Above Competition, and Definition of a hustler which was done in 2019.
“It took me more than 1 year to finish this upcoming project because of the restrictions associated with the Covid-19 pandemic. The national lockdowns were very tough on everyone,” said an excited Tendengu that the album will soon be a reality.
Majik N Money says the album will be launched live on his Facebook page and also available on all his social media channels by noon on 30 May 2021 for his legion of fans to enjoy.
He said the album was inspired by everyday life experiences and is suitable for all listeners.
“I write about real-life struggles and hustles that I have experienced personally and those of others. It’s all about life’s trials and tribulations, from poverty, domestic violence, drug modern-day slavery, politics, religion, and fashion,” added Tendengu.
The album is comprised of tracks such as Walkman, Bye Bye, Pusha mawox, Summer time, Munamato, Wrong haife yaita Right and Gwati among others. All the songs were written by Majik N Money and produced by Caveman MC and Tragey Hits.
“The song Bye talks about struggles, hardships, trials, and tribulations that I have faced in my life and all that made me who I am today,” he said.
In the song Walkman remix which features Minista, one of the baddest lyricists from Capetown SA, he talks about the way they hustle in their home location. The song was produced, mixed, and mastered by Caveman MC at Zimboz-in-limbo/Ghetto Xposure studios.
The song Summertime is the right track to vibe to when you are on a summer Cruz, chilling and sipping your favourite beverage at the lake or beach cooling off enjoying the breeze of the summertime season.
Power FM’s DJ Sliq K got an opportunity to sample one of the tracks from the upcoming album live on radio and says was impressed with the levels of creativity.
“This young generation of Hip Hop is on the slow side which is not bad. I like the creativity and he is very good at wordplay,” said DJ Sliq K.
