By Lovemore Chazingwa at Speedway Bar and Restaurant, Kadoma
Man of the moment Freeman invades City of Kadoma, landing at Speedway Bar and Restaurant this Saturday, for a show dubbed ‘Ngaibake Kadoma Concert’.
DJ Limoluv Urban Entertainment and Speedway Promotioms are the brains behind this groovy show.
The gig comes at a time Freeman is making waves in the music industry with a trailblazing song aptly titled ‘Ngaibake’ which he did in collaboration with sungura maestro, Alick ‘Baba Shero’ Macheso.
The scotching song is off his latest album Gango. That album title is an analogy of traditional meal preparation tool which roasts food for any occasion.
In contemporary times, merry-makers and food lovers have become innovative, springing to life gango in a different but, appetising manner.
Nowadays, gango is not only a food preparatory utensil, but, includes a blend of different types of cuisine in the same dish for all to enjoy. Greens and veges can be added to the gango for obvious reasons.
Such is what Freeman brings to Kadoma come Saturday. Speedway is an ideal venue for ‘Ngaibake Kadoma Concert’ as it is now renovated with an outdoor ambience under the sweltering sun and heat, of late.”
Speedway is renovated to give our clientele a smart environment,” said one of the organisers Dj Limoluv in an interview. Adding: “The open air joint is ideal as it is spacious ,bringing a breath of fresh air to revellers this hot summer season.”
Freeman is a representation of gango with his music type which borders on various life issues, mostly love and wealth and greed. Since his arrival on the Zimdancehall scene, the HKD (Handiregi Kusupporter Dancehall) proponent has not looked back. In his signature flat-base head cap, he has traversed dancehall gigs from the 100 sound clash to agricultural shows after-parties in various towns and cities.
He is also sought after by many an artist for collaborations, which fell him into tunes with Ceh Callaz, Buffalo Souljah and Darulla .
The stylish chanter is a common feature at the internationally acclaimed supermarket group Food World ‘Live the Good Life Promotion’ final annual draws as the headline artist. His tunes are a soul with ‘Joina City’ ‘Hello’, ‘Siya’ and Munamato with SA based Buffalo Souljah, all blistering on the local Zimdancehall space.
The HKD Boss comes to town at a time the city of gold is starved of top-notch entertainment menu. Speedway is on record dishing out what the fans clamour for from time to time. On May 4 this year, Judgement Yard, comprised of Etherton and Dj Flavour, pounced on the highway venue for the winter warmer instalment, much to the entertainment warmth of many a patron.
Recently, corporate bluechip, Delta Beverages curtain raiser ‘Taking Braai Day To The People’ was hosted at the classy venue. The event meant to enjoy braai in style, fashioned a dress rehearsal of the national Braai Fest.P
