A couple from Dhadhiya Village under Chief Bushu is appealing for assistance for its son who was diagnosed with delayed milestones at the age of 14 months. Richard Karedza (46) and Yudinenzi Pfumbakova (27) reside near Chakonda Growth Point along the Shamva-Madziwa road. They are the parents of 5-year-old Lasinaji Tinotenda Karedza.
The boy has a global developmental delay which has seen him facing challenges in speech and motor skills (movement) development. As a result of the condition, Lasinaji can hardly stand and finds it difficult to utter simple words. He achieves movement from place to place by dragging himself in a sitting position, using his hands.
Most denim shorts and trousers his parents buy him do not last. A walking ring would go a long towards improving Lasinaji’s life. Unfortunately, the price is beyond reach for the unemployed father and the mother who is self-employed as an airtime vendor.
“Mabhurugwa ake haagare nokuda kuti anofamba nekugwesha (his clothes tear easily because of the way he moves),” highlighted his mother.
Lasinaji needs physiotherapy. This means commuting to Shamva Hospital for the essential service. Sometimes there is not enough money for transport.
Richard and Yudinenzi are appealing for assistance in cash or kind. The couple can be reached on 0717355503/0772773632.
Those willing to assist can use the details: 1)Steward Bank Account number 1033156304 2); Ecocash 0772773632.
